Founder Evelyn Wile makes a special “guest” appearance
Event will celebrate charity’s centennial and offer family fun for all
(PASADENA, CA) When Maria* was diagnosed with breast cancer, her life fell apart.  The mother of two young children, she wondered if she could financially and physically make it through the crisis.   Not knowing what to do, she turned to staff at the Family Resource Centers in the East San Gabriel Valley, who guided her through her treatment and recovery.   They gave her the emotional support she needed to think positively about her life, take control of her illness and her family, and find a job as a medical translator.
(PASADENA, CA)-- Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich congratulated the Los Angeles children’s charity Hillsides and presented its Youth Moving On program with a proclamation of excellence during an Open House for the new Peer Resource Center located in Pasadena held this summer. 
(PASADENA, CA)--Hillsides Guild, a volunteer arm of Hillsides, a Los Angeles County children’s charity, gathered for its annual meeting and board installation at the Town Club in Pasadena.   The Guild board members for the 2013-2014 year are Donna DeMond, who is staying on as a second year as president, Armida Baylon, 1st vice president, programs,  Aline Kuhnle,  2nd Vice president, membership, Maureen Staley , communications secretary, and Elizabeth Keller, treasurer.


Family Resource Centers offer numerous community-based programs and services that provide parenting classes, mental health support, and additional crucial resources for vulnerable children and families throughout Los Angeles County, including the San Gabriel Valley and Pasadena. >
Residential Treatment Services provide a safe and stable environment where children and youths, who cannot live at home, suffered trauma, or have severe emotional or behavioral challenges, can thrive. >
Education Center, a therapeutic residential and day school, offers individualized education for students with social-emotional, learning and/or behavior challenges for children in kindergarten through 12th grade. >
Youth Moving On, with support from The Everychild Foundation, provides former foster youth affordable quality housing and numerous support services to help them become responsible, self-sufficient adults. >
