LOS ANGELES, October 18, 2016 -- Two films made by youth who receive services at Hillsides, a foster care charity, will be shown at the Washington West Film Festival in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, October 22.  Hillsides director of group homes, Ramona McGee, will be accompanying two of the youth to the film festival.  “These films are a result of a 10-week intensive film-making project where children wrote, cast, and acted in their own movies, and we are thrilled to show them to a larger audience,” said McGee.

WHAT:  Youth participating in a drug and alcohol prevention program, Storytelling for Empowerment, for Latino youth ages 13 – 24 will have seven 30-second short films screened at the 9th annual East Los Angeles Film Festival held at East LA College.

  LOS ANGELES, September 9, 2017 - Patrons will be laughing for a good cause during The Ice House 56th Anniversary Show on October 2 benefiting the Los Angeles foster care charity, Hillsides. Hillsides will host a silent auction at 5 p.m., and the show begins at 7 p.m.

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 8, 2016 -- Hillsides, a Los Angeles foster care charity, has named Donna Ford to a two-year term as the new chair of its board of directors. Ford has been a member of Hillsides board of directors for 11 years and served as Hillsides 2011 gala chair. She replaces Brent M. Mason, who remains on the board in an ex-officio position. She leads the board during a crucial time for Hillsides, which is wrapping up a $12 million capital campaign to renovate its aging Pasadena campus and just affiliated with another child welfare organization, Bienvenidos.

LOS ANGELES, August 19, 2016 – Hillsides, a Los Angeles foster care charity, has appointed Dan Braun as chief financial officer. Braun will oversee all agency business matters including banking, legal affairs, registrations and filings, tax returns, investments, compensation and benefits. He will supervise three departments: financial operations, information technology, and operations, and develop and maintain the fiscal business management of Hillsides Youth Moving On program for transition-aged youth and Hillsides therapeutic school, Hillsides Education Center.
