  Programs
Innovative programming is essential to Hillsides’ ability to meet the needs of children and families. Our staff's expertise and teamwork provide the quality care and treatment necessary to nurture each child's healing process. Hillsides' programs and services are widely known and respected in the child welfare community.

Hillsides has programs that focus on all aspects of a child’s well-being. Our residential programs provide a secure haven for many of our emotionally disturbed children and troubled teens.
  • On-campus mental health rehabilitation program for residents helps children to improve their social skills, fine and gross motor skills, and how to manage their behavior and emotions.
  • Sattellite homes located throughout Pasadena focus on creating a warm, loving environment where children can build a life for the future.
  • Hillsides Family Center provides bilingual mental health services for children and families as well as in-home counseling to families at risk, serving Los Angeles County, including San Gabriel Valley and Pasadena
  • Education is a huge part of Hillsides and was established to meet the needs of children requiring a special education environment.
  • As children in foster care grow and reach the age of emancipation, the goal is to provide as much support and guidance to integrate them into the challenges of modern society and help them to attain independent living.
  • Our transitional living and housing program, Youth Moving On, provides former foster youth an affordable and safe place to live while honing their independent living skills to transition successfully into adulthood.
Hillsides was the recipient of the "Harry Sheldon Community Service Award" from the City of Pasadena. The Los Angeles Times has honored our agency with its "Community Partnership Award" in the categories of Social Services and Volunteers of Distinction. In addition, the Child Welfare League of America honored Hillsides for work in the local community.
