Ice House Fundraiser for Hillsides Raises More Than $8,000
12.8.19

LOS ANGELES, December 8, 2019 – The Ice House Comedy Club 59th Anniversary Show, held on December 8 benefiting Hillsides, raised more than $8,000 for the Southern California foster care charity. The sold-out event, which included a silent and live auction, supports the Hillsides Volunteer Network, a volunteer arm of Hillsides. The funds will go towards activities and field trips for the children who live in Hillsides’ residential program.

Each year The Ice House owner Bob Fisher puts on a special anniversary show benefit for Hillsides. This anniversary marked the end of an era, after 41 years, Fisher passed the torch to The Ice House’s newest owner Johnny Buss, also part owner of the Los Angeles Lakers. Kicking off the 59th show was NBC4’s beloved weathercaster and long-time stand-up comic Fritz Coleman. Comic, motivation speaker and humanitarian, Kathy Buckley, followed.  Much anticipated Ken Jeong, from The Hangover and current panelist on The Masked Singer, filled the room with laughter. The very funny Drew Lynch, second place winner on America’s Got Talent, and Ice House regular Paul Rodriguez also performed. Rounding out the show was surprise guest Craig Robinson, best known for his role as Darryl from The Office, who had the club in stitches but ended the night with a heartfelt thank you to Bob Fisher for the impact he has made on comedy.

The Hillsides Volunteer Network is one of three support groups of Hillsides. The group puts on monthly activities and events for the children, including an annual summer carnival. To learn more about or to join the Hillsides Volunteer Network, please visit hillsides.org/hvn-memberships
