LOS ANGELES, December 2, 2016 – Hillsides, a foster care charity, has launched an adopt-a-family program for the holidays.  The charity has set a goal of providing 70 families with gifts and food for the holiday season, and is reaching out to the community to fulfill this goal.

LOS ANGELES, November 30, 2016 -- Sherri Ginsberg, the librarian for Hillsides, a Los Angeles County foster care charity headquartered in Pasadena, has been named one of the top 10 librarians in the country by the American Library Association. Ginsberg will receive the 2016 I Love My Librarian Award tonight during a reception and ceremony hosted by Carnegie Corporation of New York in New York City.

LOS ANGELES, November 18, 2016 --  Hillsides, a foster care charity, won three PRism awards recognizing the best in Los Angeles area public relations at the 52 Annual PRism Awards Show held by the Public Relations Society of America, Los Angeles Chapter (PRSA-LA) in Hollywood on November 16.  Hillsides received awards in the categories of 1) Crisis Communications – Associations/Nonprofits/Education, 2) Issues Management- Associations/Nonprofits/Education, and 3) Integrated Communications – Associations/Nonprofits/Education.

LOS ANGELES, November 15,  2016 -- Sara Simpson, a senior managing director at Fidelity Investments in Los Angeles, has been selected to chair Hillsides annual gala, “Las Flores de Hillsides,” to be held on February 25, 2017. Simpson, who has been a gala committee member since 2013, also serves on Hillsides board. In addition, she volunteers for Hillsides Youth Moving On program for youth transitioning from foster care to adulthood.

LOS ANGELES, CA, November 10, 2016 – Youth from Hillsides foster care charity won the award for best film at an annual film festival for children in foster care on November 5. The teens won for their film, “I’m Not Normal,” about a teen who is tormented by guilt after the drowning of his sister.

Education Center, a therapeutic residential and day school, offers individualized education for students with social-emotional, learning and/or behavior challenges for children in kindergarten through 12th grade. >
Youth Moving On, with support from The Everychild Foundation, provides former foster youth affordable quality housing and numerous support services to help them become responsible, self-sufficient adults. >
