  LOS ANGELES, March 14, 2019 -- Students at the Hillsides Education Center (HEC) partnered with a charity, K9 Youth Alliance, to help dogs living at the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA find homes.

LOS ANGELES, CA, March 13, 2019 -- For the sixth year in a row, an alumni support group of the University of Southern California, the Trojan Affiliates, organized an afternoon of art for the children who reside at Hillsides as part of the USC Alumni Day of SCervice.  The 2019 Day of SCervice was held on March 9. Thirteen volunteers oversaw a fun art activity where children created rainbows out of paper, stickers, and cotton balls in a day of “Building Rainbows & Creating Dreams.” The group also provided home-baked goodies and finger foods for the children.

  LOS ANGELES, February 26, 2019 -- Hillsides, a Southern California mental health and foster care charity, raised more than $500,000 during its Annual Gala, Heart of Brazil, held on February 23, 2019 at The Langham Huntington, Pasadena. “The gala is our largest fundraiser of the year, and this is the most money we have raised since celebrating our Centennial in 2013.  We are overwhelmed by the incredible support of our community,” said Hillsides President and CEO Joseph M. Costa.

LOS ANGELES, February 1, 2019 - On January 29, Hillsides, a foster care and child welfare charity, held a reception for the sponsors of its upcoming gala, Heart of Brazil.  Heart of Brazil will be held on February 23 at The Langham Huntington, Pasadena. Some 75 guests enjoyed appetizers, a Brazilian-style cocktail, the Caipirinha, and Brazilian folk music at the Gauchos Village restaurant in Glendale.  The event was hosted by Gauchos Village chef and owner Kevin Aksacki.

We provide home-based family care (formerly known as foster care) to help children and youth heal from the effects of trauma. Included in the home-based care are treatment and adoption services for children and youth ranging from newborn to 21 years old. >
Our centers offer numerous community-based programs and services that provide parenting classes, mental health support, and additional crucial resources for vulnerable children and families throughout Los Angeles County, including the San Gabriel Valley and Pasadena. >
We offer comprehensive family support and individual mental health treatment for children and adolescents, ages 6 to 17. This program includes a Residential Treatment Center (RTC), a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), as well as coordinated family and aftercare programming. >
Youth Moving On, with support from The Everychild Foundation, provides former foster youth affordable quality housing and numerous support services to help them become responsible, self-sufficient adults. >
